CSCC - USC Campus Ministry

On-Campus Worship is every Sunday night during the fall and spring semesters.  We meet at 7:00 in Russell House, Room 303.  All USC students are welcome, just show up!

Christ's Student Church at Carolina (CSCC) is the Church of Christ campus ministry at the University of South Carolina.  CSCC exists to glorify Christ through the lives of Carolina students with worship, Bible Study, service, relationships, and Godly social interaction.  We are united in Christ but diverse in ethnicity, interests, and backgrounds.  CSCC's intent is to be counter-cultural as we emphasize the love, faith, and lifestyle found in God's Word.  Beliefs are sought in the Bible only rather than any denominational or cultural worldviews.

If you are a student looking for a campus ministry, if you want to learn more about Christ and His Word, or if you just want someone to talk to, please contact Campus Minister Randy Gore* at Gamecock4Jesus@bellsouth.net.  You have a welcome spot as a friend in CSCC.

*In addition to regular group ministry worship and activities, CSCC provides free personal services of counseling and individual Bible studies with our campus minister.  Any USC student, whether currently participating in CSCC or not,  is welcome to contact Randy to set up an appointment.

CSCC is a cooperative outreach sponsored by several congregations and individuals in non-denominational Churches of Christ.  The ministry is overseen locally by Palmetto Church of Christ, Columbia, South Carolina.

On-Campus Worship:
CSCC's Sunday night worship on campus is held weekly in Russell House, Room 303 at 7:00pm.  Each Sunday we will share the Word, sing praises, have prayer, offer communion, and have great fellowship.  Come praise God with us and meet other students who love or have an interest in Christ!

Weekly GodChats:
GodChats are CSCC's midweek Bible & life discussion groups.  This semester, we will have a Guys GodChat, facilitated by Campus Minister Randy Gore, and a Girls GodChat, facilitated by our female ministry leader Caroline Sanders.  Contact Gamecock4Jesus@bellsouth.net if you would like to attend a GodChat.

Service: One of the principles CSCC tries to uphold is James 1:27 - "Pure and undefiled religion in the sight of our God and Father is this: to visit orphans and widows....."  CSCC is regularly involved in working with children at a local shelter and we also have an adopted grandmother at a local nursing home.  These ministries are an important part of CSCC and have blessed the lives of our students over the years.  CSCC also has projects during the school year serving the homeless in Columbia.

Randy is the Church of Christ staff minister at the University of South Carolina and for CSCC.  He is an avid Carolina Gamecock fan (as he gives the 'spurs up' sign in the photo) and graduated from Carolina 'back in the day.'  He also received graduate degrees from Southern Christian University in Montgomery, Alabama (Master of Science in Ministry) and Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tennessee (Master of Divinity in Bible).  After serving in youth ministry and preaching for several years, he decided to return to Carolina to get a campus ministry started for Churches of Christ and CSCC was launched in 2001. In addition to ministering on the Carolina campus, Randy works with youth through Palmetto Bible Camp and does itinerant speaking and teaching for various churches.

"Caro" received her Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Carolina and has been active with CSCC both as an undergraduate student and graduate student. She continues to serve as a ministry volunteer, working primarily with our young ladies in CSCC.  Caroline grew up in Union, South Carolina and now lives in Columbia where she works full-time as a school librarian.  She has also been a tutor for the USC Athletic Department.  She is a great blessing to have in the ministry of CSCC, and she loves helping students grow in their faith.
